The price difference is small (€11 vs. an average of €10-12), but the difference in reliability is enormous. Cheap providers cut costs on server infrastructure, so exactly when the whole of the Netherlands is watching (King’s Day, the World Cup final, the Eurovision Song Contest) you run into buffering or outages. I have never experienced that with Smootv.

For SD quality you need at least 10 Mbps. For HD (1080p) we recommend 25 Mbps, and for 4K at least 50 Mbps. In practice, virtually everyone in the Netherlands has sufficient speed — even the cheapest fibre subscriptions offer 100 Mbps. Preferably use a wired connection (ethernet) instead of wifi for the most stable streams. Wifi can also work well, provided your router runs on 5 GHz and is not too far from your TV.

Yes, depending on your subscription. The Personal plan supports 1 device at a time, and the Family plan supports multiple devices. You can install the IPTV app on as many devices as you like — the limit only applies to simultaneous viewing.
The easiest method is via the Smart IPTV app (siptv). M3U is a playlist file (actually a long URL) containing all the channels. It is universal and works with any media player, including VLC. Xtream Codes is a login system (server URL + username + password) that offers more features: EPG integration, favourites lists, catch-up TV, and automatic updates of the channel list. Most modern IPTV apps such as TiviMate and IPTV Smarters work best with Xtream Codes. Smootv offers both options, so you can choose what you prefer.
