Smart IPTV (also known as SIPTV) is one of the most popular IPTV apps for Samsung and LG Smart TVs. The big advantage: you don’t need an extra box. You install the app on your TV, upload your channel list via a simple website, and you’re watching. The whole process takes less than ten minutes if you know what you’re doing.<\/p>\n

In this guide I walk you through the process step by step — separately for Samsung and LG, because the steps are slightly different. After that I cover the most common problems and their solutions, and I compare Smart IPTV with alternatives such as TiviMate, Flix IPTV and SET IPTV.<\/p>\n

You’ll need the following: a Samsung or LG Smart TV from 2017 or newer, a working internet connection, an IPTV subscription with an M3U link (you get this from your provider — Smootv<\/a> supplies both M3U and Xtream Codes), and a computer or phone to upload the M3U link.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n

What Is Smart IPTV (SIPTV)?<\/h2>\n

Smart IPTV is a third-party app (not made by Samsung or LG themselves) that lets you watch IPTV channels on Smart TVs. The app costs a one-off €5.49 after a free seven-day trial period. You pay per TV — if you have two TVs, you pay twice. The app is linked to your TV’s MAC address, which means you need a separate licence for each device.<\/p>\n

The app supports M3U playlists and is configured via the website siptv.app\/mylist<\/strong>. There you enter your TV’s MAC address and your IPTV provider’s M3U link. The app then fetches the channel list automatically.<\/p>\n

Important: Smart IPTV only provides the app. It doesn’t include any channels. For those you need a separate IPTV subscription, such as the one from Smootv<\/a>. The app is just the player; the provider supplies the content.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Setting Up Smart IPTV on a Samsung Smart TV<\/h2>\n

These instructions apply to Samsung Smart TVs with Tizen OS (2017 and newer — model series with M, N, R, T, AU, QN, and newer in the model name).<\/p>\n

Install the Smart IPTV app<\/h3>\n

Press the Home button on your Samsung remote. Navigate to Apps<\/strong> and open the Samsung App Store<\/strong>. Search for “Smart IPTV” or “SIPTV” in the search bar. Install the app. If you can’t find the app via search, try looking in the “Video” or “Entertainment” category. On some Samsung models the app comes pre-installed.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> Samsung has removed Smart IPTV from the App Store in some regions. If you can’t find the app, read the “Alternatives” section further down for other options (Flix IPTV, SET IPTV, OTT Navigator).<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Note down the MAC address<\/h3>\n

Open the Smart IPTV app on your TV. On first launch, the app shows a screen with your MAC address<\/strong> (a code in the format XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX). Note this address down carefully — you’ll need it in the next step. Tip: take a photo with your phone so you don’t copy it down incorrectly. You can also find the MAC address in the TV settings, under Network or About This TV, but the address shown in the Smart IPTV app is the right one to use.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
