An IPTV box from AliExpress is two things in one listing: a cheap Android box, which is fine, and a subscription code from an unknown reseller, which is the problem. The code usually works for weeks or months and then stops, the seller cannot fix a stream, the buyer protection window closes after delivery, and the Dutch channel list is rarely what the photos show. Buy the box wherever you like; buy the subscription from a provider you can message in Dutch, test for 24 hours and pay per month.
What an AliExpress IPTV listing actually contains
Search for IPTV on AliExpress and you get three kinds of product. Boxes that ship with a player app and a code already entered, sold as lifetime or one year. Codes on their own, sold as a subscription for a country or a language, often at a price that is below what the streams cost to run. And ordinary Android boxes with the word IPTV in the title because it sells, which are just boxes.
The first two are resold access to someone else's streams. The seller on the marketplace is not the person running them, has no way to see whether they work tonight, and cannot do anything when they stop. That single fact explains almost every complaint in the reviews.
What goes wrong, in the order it usually happens
Week 1: the channel list is not the one in the photos
Listings show a screenshot of a large international list. What arrives is often a list with a few Dutch channels, no programme guide and duplicated groups. Ask the seller for a 24-hour test before paying; most cannot give one, which tells you enough.
Month 1 to 3: buffering in the evening
Cheap codes are sold in volume on servers that are full by nine in the evening. The stream plays fine at noon and freezes during the match. Nothing on your side fixes that.
Month 2 to 6: the code stops
The reseller's own supplier changes, gets shut down or simply cuts the reseller off. Lifetime means the lifetime of that arrangement. The listing is usually gone by then, and with it the seller.
After that: no refund
Marketplace buyer protection covers the parcel arriving and matching the description in the first weeks. A stream that dies in month four is outside it. The money is gone, and so is the box's value if it only works with that code.
The box itself: fine, with two checks
A generic Android box from a marketplace can be a perfectly good IPTV device. Check two things before you rely on it. First, that it runs a normal Android TV or Android version on which you can install the player app you want from the store, rather than a locked launcher that only opens the seller's app. Second, that it has at least 2 GB of memory and a wired network port, because that is what decides whether channel switching is smooth.
If the box only opens a pre-installed app with a code you cannot change, it is not a box you own; it is a terminal for one reseller. Reset it to a clean launcher if you can, or spend the money on a box that lets you choose.

The total cost is not higher. A box for forty euros plus a monthly subscription you can stop costs less over a year than a lifetime code that lasts four months, and you keep the box.

Is an AliExpress IPTV box legal?
The box is a normal Android device and is legal. The code inside is resold access to someone's streams, and whether those are licensed is something neither you nor the seller can verify. That is the same gray area as with any IPTV service.
My AliExpress code stopped working. Can it be fixed?
Not by you and not by the seller. Only the party running the streams could, and you have no contact with them. Keep the box, wipe the reseller's app and use a subscription you control.
