Fixes 1 to 3 below cover those in five minutes. If Smarters still fails, fix 6 gives you a second app with the same login, which is what we recommend on smart TVs anyway.<\/p><\/div>\n<nav class=\"sg-toc\"><span class=\"sg-label\">In this article<\/span><ol><li><a href=\"#waarom\">Why Smarters breaks more often than other apps<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#fixes\">The six fixes, in order<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#faq\">Questions about IPTV Smarters<\/a><\/li><\/ol><\/nav>\n<h2 id=\"waarom\">Why Smarters breaks more often than other apps<\/h2><p>Smarters is the most installed IPTV player, and also the one with the most versions in circulation: an official app, a Pro version, LG and Samsung store versions that lag behind, and countless sideloaded copies. When one of those stops receiving updates, or a TV firmware update changes the decoder, the app on that device breaks while the same login keeps working everywhere else. So the first question is never whether the subscription works; it is which Smarters you have.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"fixes\">The six fixes, in order<\/h2><div class=\"sg-fixes\"><div class=\"sg-fix\"><h3>1. Check the version and update or reinstall<\/h3><p>Open Settings inside the app and note the version. On Android and Fire TV, install the current version from the official site of the app or from a downloader app; on Samsung and LG, remove the app and reinstall it from the TV store so you get the newest build available there. An app that says it has expired or is not authorised is an old build, not your subscription.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"sg-fix\"><h3>2. Enter the login in the right format<\/h3><p>Smarters has two doors: Login with Xtream Codes API (server URL, username, password) and Load your playlist (one M3U link). Our message gives you both. If you paste the M3U link into the Xtream screen, or the server URL without the port number, the list stays empty or the app says invalid. Use the Xtream door on TVs; it loads faster and keeps the programme guide.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"sg-fix\"><h3>3. Switch the decoder<\/h3><p>Settings, Player Selection or Stream Format: switch between the built-in player, VLC and ExoPlayer, and between hardware and software decoding. Black screen with sound, or a stream that opens and closes immediately, is nearly always this.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"sg-fix\"><h3>4. Clear the cache and reload the list<\/h3><p>In the app: Settings, Clear Cache, then open the user and choose Refresh or Reload. On Android also clear the app's storage in the device settings. This fixes the empty list after we update a server.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"sg-fix\"><h3>5. Rule out the network<\/h3><p>Try the same login in Smarters on your phone over mobile data. If it plays there, the TV's network is the problem: cable, 5 GHz, router restart, or a DNS or family filter that blocks the server.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"sg-fix\"><h3>6. Use a second app with the same login<\/h3><p>Your subscription is not tied to Smarters. On Samsung and LG, Smart IPTV, Net IPTV and IBO Player are more stable than the store version of Smarters; on Android and Fire TV, TiviMate and XCIPTV; on iPhone and Apple TV, GSE. Install one from the guides, enter the same details, done.
